About the British Exploring Society
"Adventure with Purpose".......
The British Exploring Society is a personal development charity which provides projects of real scientific significance to inspire young people aged 16-25. It was founded in 1932 by a member of Captain Scott’s ill-fated Antarctic expedition of 1910-13. Since then, there have been 130 expeditions to all seven continents.
The aim of the society has always been to further the education of young people by providing inspirational, challenging and rewarding expeditions to remote wildernesses, to promote confidence, leadership, teamwork, and a spirit of adventure and exploration.
In 2015, expeditions were organised to the Peruvian Amazon and Ladakh region of the Indian Himalayas. These are being repeated in 2016
