Another car boot

I have been very busy lately writing letters to trusts, together with two leaflets (one about me, one about the expedition) to accompany them.

Today, I went to the Gloucester car boot sale and managed to raise £104, which I will add towards the flight fund.

I will start paid work on Tuesday compiling a database with a small company, for one day a week, which will be very helpful in building up more funds.

After volunteering at the Corinium Museum today, I took lots of photographs of my wooden castle and knights - it was a much loved toy, I will be sad to see it go if it sells on eBay. I also took lots of photos of other items I will try to sell.

Today I visited my grandmother, who has very kindly donated lots of items for me to sell. I will be spending the next few days sorting through them, and ascertaining the best means of selling them. Our dining room has now turned into my fundraising room, piled high with boxes - the dog is struggling to find his dog pots now.

No car boot

It was raining today so sadly no car boot sale. That was supposed to have been the last one of the season for that location, so I will have to look around for somewhere else for next time. I spent the time instead by sorting through more boxes of things, photographing some of them and putting them up on eBay. The items I don't think will sell there (mainly because it is too expensive to send in the post) have been stashed away for the next car boot sale. I am thinking of putting adverts for some large items up on the notice board in the local supermarket. I can't believe quite how time consuming this is turning out to be.

I finally published my website today, and received my first sponsorship, from BioC. Thank you very much.

The weather doesn't look too hopeful for the car boot sale tomorrow.

First car boot sale

Today I held my first car boot sale at Aston Down near Stroud. I made just over £100. I had never done this before, so learnt a lot from the experience, though most of the items came back home with us, so I will have another one somewhere else next weekend. In the meantime I have lots of things still to sort out for eBay, and to prepare for Saturday's car boot sale.
