It is 44 days now until I leave for Cuzco, flying from Heathrow on the 23rd July. I am still keeping busy with the final fundraising: mostly my job, but I also have some items left to sell on eBay – I discovered there is a market for old magazines (and my parents and I seem to have hoarded loads of them from the last 15 years!). There are still lots of items left to buy for the expedition, but I am getting there. This week I have been organising my first aid kit – plasters, bandages, Anti-Histamines, painkillers, rehydration salts and Imodium (in case of stomach upsets), and so on. I also bought a big bottle of EX4 Antimosquito fabric insect control (Permethrin), as I plan to spray all my clothes, sleeping bags etc. before I pack it for extra mosquito protection. |
