I have recently registered “Angus Exploring” with “Easy Fundraising”, which means that we (or anyone else who wishes to help me) can do online shopping with big retailers (like Ocado, Waitrose, Tesco, Amazon, John Lewis, PC World), who will then donate a percentage to Angus Exploring, without costing us, or anyone else supporting me, any money. There is even the possibility of using the search engine “easysearch” to generate further donations to Angus Exploring, again at no cost to the user.
In the past couple of weeks I have bought some clothing wholesale to help generate some funds on eBay. However, the reality of this has been a little disappointing, as I am finding I am having to compete with various retailers who are buying enormous job lots at a much lower unit price, and then selling the items individually on eBay at ridiculously low prices. However, now that I have gained my first star rating on eBay, and 15 positive comments, I have in the space of three days sold two shirts and two dresses, which has generated a small amount of funds. I am surprised, however, at how lucrative it seems to be selling my old toys, such as Playmobil, Micro Machines and educational toys. Besides the money, it is great to feel I am recycling rather than contributing to landfill.
In addition to the wholesale clothes, I have also bought a large batch of ties (140 of them) and various other items, which I am putting by to sell at the next car boot sale on 15th November. I expect that this will be my last car boot for this year, as it is getting a bit too cold to be hanging around outside all day.
