Now is the time for making plans and New Years Resolutions. Regarding the fundraising, I am planning at least a couple more car boot sales in the Spring. I will be continuing the eBay sales, and will also be selling on Amazon (the online shop!) – I had just started doing this before Christmas, and have already sold a book there. I am also going to do more artwork, and am considering the option of selling it on Etsy. I am in the process of applying for some grants and bursaries, and will be trying to pursue the sponsorship side of things further in the coming months. I will also do more hours on my part time work, so that I can put more money aside for my expedition.
I will need to start procuring larger items of kit, such as rucksack and wellies, so that I can wear them in and start training with them (i.e. filling the rucksack full of rocks and wandering round the Water Park for miles on end!). It is also time to start getting fit for the expedition. I intend on doing Karate training once a week (I am hopefully going to do my Second Dan Black Belt before the summer), an early morning swim at least once a week and I intend on going to the gym at least once a week. Also, I am going to go on long walks regularly in the Water Park (with my rucksack). This is just to start – I know I will have to step it up as the summer approaches.
